Full Itinerary

Start your fantastic trip by picked up at port and visit the first spot – Chusonji Temple. Since being established in 850, the temple has changed its appearance several times that only two buildings still remain. Especially, the most beautiful structure, Konjikido Hall attracts various visitors with its golden cover. The other one is Kyozo Hall which is home to Buddhist scriptures and impressive artifacts.

Continue on to Motsuji Temple Gardens. Formerly a large temple complex with numerous structures, after many ups and downs, nowadays, Motsuji is a pure land garden. With unique style from the Heian Period, the garden includes a large pond surrounded by a scenic walking path. After a walk, reach Hondo Hall and Kaizando which house historical and cultural artifacts.

The last spot in this trip is Takkoku no Iwaya – a temple with a unique location. Hiding on a side of a cliff, the temple was built secretly during the wartime with the indigenous Emishi people. Take a short walk trekking through the woods to reach temple halls. Get a deep breath and enjoy your free time exploring this ancient historical and religious site. Afterward, return back to port and prepare for the next departure.
