Welcomed by your guide and driver at the port, then transfer to the first place of our day trip, Shiogama Fish Market. Considered as an emblematic symbol of this port city, located in the busy fish processing district, this whole market is open to the public. With over 140 stalls and shops, the finest and freshest seafood products are on displayed as well as specialty items like Matsushima oysters, fresh tuna, sushi. Wandering around this large marketplace, interacting with the friendly vendors, and sampling fresh delicacies right from the sea are fascinating experiences for you to explore.

You then transfer to Shiogama Shrine which is historically one of the most important shrines of the region and the protector of fishermen and safe childbirth. Situated at the top of a 200step staircase and set amongst spectacular gardens with views of the sea, this 1200yearold shrine is especially breathtaking during the cherry blossom season. It a perfect time when the vibrant red-painted pillars contrast against the delicate pink hues from the 20 species scattered amongst some 300 cherry trees. After the 4-hour sightseeing trip, the driver will transfer you back to the port for your departure. Tour ends.
