Wait for you at the port with a welcome board is your local guide who will take you to visit the famous Itsukushima Shrine first on your Hiroshima shore excursion. Best known for its “floating” Itsukushima Torii Gate, this Shinto shrine designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its solemn beauty and prominent structure of red pillars and boardwalks. At low tide, you can take a walk to it for a closer look and can even see several wild deers wandering around. And experience Esibuya Miyajima which offer rickshaw tours around the island.
Then take some photos in Momijidani Park, known as one of the most popular areas for the fall colors and home to hundreds of maple trees with noble and beautiful leaves. To the east of Momijidani Park is one of the 8 Great Views of Itsukushima, Yatsugahara Biroku, where you can find many deers and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
Finally, take a leisurely stroll around the area of Miyajima Machiya Street where includes lines of cafes and art galleries renovated from old folk houses. You may feel as if you have stepped back in time when walking along this nostalgic avenue with old townscape representing the history and culture of Miyajima Island. Trip ends when your driver transfers you back to port.
