Full Itinerary
Greeted by our local guide on arrival at the Osaka port and transferred through Osaka City to see the Osaka Castle known as the symbolic attraction of the city. With the hope to create a center of a new and unified Japan under Toyotomi rule, Toyotomi Hideyoshi built the castle in 1583. However, a few years after Hideyoshi’s death, Osaka Castle was attacked and destroyed by Tokugawa troops. This incident put an end to the Toyotomi lineage in 1615.
Osaka Castle was reconstructed by Tokugawa Hidetada in the 1620s, but the main tower was struck by lightning and burnt down in 1665. It was not until 1931 that the castle was rebuilt thanks to the present ferroconcrete. Before reaching the top donjon to enjoy the panorama view of Osaka City, visit the Osaka Castle Museum to learn about the castle’s history and the Toyotomi Family through artifacts and relics.
After lunch with savory Japanese dishes, move to Dotonbori, one of the most famous shopping districts in Japan. Stroll along the bustling and colorful streets, freely wander around for nice shots or enjoy local specialties such as sushi, sashimi, or sake at restaurants, or seek for traditional items as souvenirs before return to the cruise port. Trip ends.
